Motivated by a turbocharged version of the 4.2-litre engine used in the S6, the RS6 is more powerful than both its smaller S4 based brother, the RS4, and any competitors from BMW or Mercedes. 460 horsepower are sent through the familiar Tiptronic gearbox with steering wheel mounted control buttons and transmitted by quattro four-wheel-drive system down to the with 255/35ZR18 tires also used in the RS4. One of the main differences between this "R" and the RS2 and 4 is the apperarance of a sedan in the lineup, besides the familiar Avant layout. Inside there will be carbon fibre trim, special sports seats, electrically operated and trimmed with leather and Alcantara, air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, CD player and optional satellite navigation, in-car television, and built-in cellular phone systems.
