OPEL ECO-SPEEDSTER

At 2002 Paris Auto Show OPEL introduces a new prototype based on the SPEEDSTER. it's realized completely with carbon fibre in order to reach to best low weight as possible. But the real new is a DOHC ECOTEC CDTI diesel line-4. It has an incredible low 1300 cc. displacement and an impressive 112 hp. power. In its efforts, OPEL wants to create diesel engines with high performance and low consumption, but at higher level than Vw-Audi which has actually a very strong top position in this hambit (for the Vw Lupo 3L, Vw claimes an incredible 3L x 100 kms diesel consumption).
OPEL promises to make better: it's very well-styled ECO-SPEEDSTER needs only 2,5 liters for 100 kms: astonishing! That's a heavy preface on news diesel engines it's going to launch for its models. But the new ECO-SPEEDSTER is also incredibly fast: low weight and high power should allow it to reach 250 km/h! Maybe they want to win Le Mans with the gasoline?

FULL CARS LIST

Monterey 2002, Agosto 2002
Until yesterday we thought only GTOs could reach such values. But from now, a new record has been created. It's more interesting if we notice that this year, at Monterey the most expensive car have been, of course, a Ferrari, but not a 250 GTO: a 330 TRI has been purchased by its new very happy owner for the great sum of 6,500,000 USD. Another two Ferraris have reached very high values: a 250 Monza (1,705,000 USD) and a 250 GT SWB (1,450,000 USD). As concerns all cars have been produced, prices have been "important" almost always: Mercedes Benz 540 K (946,000 USD), Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing (275,000 USD), Osca 1600 GT Zagato (92,000 USD), Porsche 356 Carrera Speedster GS (200,000 USD), Corvette L88 Sunray DX (900, 000 USD) and so on.

MAZDA RX-8
One of the most intereseting new car of the next Paris Motor Show, will certainly be the heir of the great RX7 Mazda of early Ninetis. The new RX8 will be equipped again with a rotative engine, made with two rotative units (654 cc. dicplacement each) with a total displacement of 1308 cc. Thi ssmall engine with high thermodynamical rendering gives 250 ho @ 8500 rpm, with a maximum torque of 216 Nm @ 7500 rpm. This new engine is 30% lighter than the previous.
The design of the car is completely new: in the front part it's very original and agressive. The rear strikes too even if is noticeable a certain resemblance with the Honda S2000.
Particoularly interesting is the frame structure, with the new Freestyle Door System with allows not to use anymore the central strut.
The traction is on rear axle and the gearbox is 6 gears + RM.
This new car, we think, it's powerful enough to give great emotions to drivers. But for who needs even more feelings, Mazda is thinking about a Turbocharged version with 340 hp.

AUDI RSR Concept
How we could forget the smashing AVUS Quattro introduced in 1992? Or the original ROSEMEYER? And there's another evidence: RS4 and RS6 (and probably a terrific RS8!), are undoubtly great examples of the value of AUDI factory in the supercars universe. So, maybe that's the right moment for introducing a superb product who can highly demonstrates AUDI standard qualities in a field which doesn't know any crisis: the Ferrari ENZO, the KOENIGSEGG CC, the next PORSCHE CARRERA GT reveal its vitality. And they could have soon a new fabolous competitor!

PORSCHE 996 TURBO CABRIOLET
Caught during a test along the old and very hard German Nürburgring this prototype looks the cabriolet version of the Porsche 911 Turbo. Eventually, all family feeling elements of the actual 996 twin turbocharged: specific lights, air intakes and lower einds, 18 inches wheels, side intakes (even if they look different from the 996 turbo, similar to the ones coming from the prototype we introduced recently...) and the specific rear wind.
The engine should be the "standard" DOHC Flat-6 watercooled, twin turbocharged and 420 hp equipped. The traction is assured by a perfect AWD system which works with an even more efficient PSM (Porsche Stability Management system). Such great qualities for a supercar which can reach 305 km/h (without Tiptronic system) will, of course, influence the price, undoubtly correct for such a cabrio-beast: almost 140.000,00 € and it's expected that from next Paris Motor Show will be many; Ferrari 360 Modena, Maserati Spyder Jaguar XKR and Aston Martin DB7 have a very very strong rival. PORSCHE BOXSTER 2.7: Now 228 hp.
PORSCHE BOXSTER 3.2 S: Now 260 hp.

Porsche factory introduces the first images and  specs of the facelift Boxster and facelift Boxster S.
Both engines, the 2.7 and 3.2 boxer flat-6 are 8 hp stronger: 228 hp for the standard version and 320 hp for the S version. At Porsche engineers assures that the torque is even better. Brakes have become bigger. Looking at it from ouside, we think it's very hard to distinguish all the modifies the car has: the air scoop behind the doors, for example, has been placed higher than before. Besides the rear wing is new.In the cockpit, there's some modify: cup holders, as in the 996 Carrera and the compartment in the passengers side under the airbag is now containing 5 litres.

Boxster 2.7 price: 42.108 Euro.
Boxster 3.2 S price: 49.764 Euro.

PORSCHE 996 GT3 2003 model year: here are the first pictures of what seems to be the prototype of the new Porsche 911 GT3. The GT3 is the high-performance variant of the aspirated 996 Carrera, not to be confused with the GT2, based on the 996 Turbo. When, in 1999, the 996 Turbo was introduced, Porsche gave the 911 a little restyling, with newly shaped headlights; the standard 911, almost a year later, received the same modifies, in addition with a more powerful engine (now with 3600 cc. displacement. And also the GT2, based on the Turbo and introduced in January 2001, had the new headlamps. The latest GT3 was based on the former 911 Carrera, but now Porsche brings the GT3 up to today’s standard of the latest 996 Carrera.
Equipped with a manual six-speed gearbox, the 3.6-litre flat-six engine in the rear should give more than 370 hp. Chassis and mechanics will be fine-tuned and should allow a top-speed of around 310 km/h. Traditionally, the interior will be quite simple in comparison with the standard Carrera. PORSCHE 911 - 2005 model year: Looking at it for the first time we were astonished: "WOW, finally the 989!" Then we saw only two doors and have exclaimed: what a big 911, it seems the Ferrari 456! Effectively, this new prototype is very unusual: In the front, there is a Carrera GT shape (most of all looking at the lights). Looking at the rear, it seems that Porsche has finally come back to curves! Style has a great harmony, all dimensions are quite round and very aggressive; the big tyres suggest an oversized back! The entire shape looks like a bigger Porsche than the actual 911. The intakes in the rear are beautiful and give more aggressive style to this supercar. Looking at the new Cayenne, maybe it would use the new V8 water-cooled engines, atmospherical or turbocharged. Only one question: must we wait so long until 2005? (click on images to enlarge)

DAUER EB110S : we all supercars enthusiasts thought that we would have not seen an EB110 anymore. But after the Bugatti S.p.A.'s bankrupt, DAUER SPORTCARS decided to go on in the fascinating adventure of building street legal racing cars (how do we forget that it already creates the smashing and incredible 962 Le Mans?). AUDI RS6: Maybe at Ingolstadt they have thought that the big RS4 wasn't enough for certain customers with "heavy foot"; so AUDI introduces its new RS6, based on the excellent A6 model line. DOHC V8, 4,2 liters, two turbochargers, more than 450 hp. A real monster with a gentle shape. Exciting! >>>
