NOVITA’: Jaguar F-Type 4 cilindri[:en]New Jaguar F-TYPE with 4 cylinder engine

E’ abbinato a cambio automatico Quickshift a 8 rapporti e trazione posteriore.

TELAIO

CLEVER PET. WITH THE NEW 4 CYLINDER ENGINE THE NEW F-TYPE ENTRY LEVEL GIVES (MAYBE) ADEQUATE FEELING FOR SPORTY CUSTOMERS. 300 HP SEEMS TO BE TASTY BUT PRESTIGE IS SURELY AT ITS BEST IN THE CLASS. SO PORSCHE 718 CAYMAN AND AUDI TTS COULD BE VERY NERVOUS.

Jaguar introduces its four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine for the F-Type Coupé and Cabriolet. Not only it is the most powerful four-cylinder unit ever offered in a production Jaguar, it also generates the highest specific power output of any engine in the F-TYPE range: 150PS per litre. It also makes this the most efficient F-TYPE in the range, with a 16 per cent improvement in fuel economy over the 340PS V6, together with CO2 emissions of just 163g/km (NEDC cycle).

DESIGN

The 2018 Model Year Jaguar F-TYPE features Redesigned bumpers, together with optional full LED headlights. At the rear the four-cylinder model features a unique single tailpipe finisher. Lightweight 18-inch wheels also identify the latest addition to the line-up.

ENGINE

The Ingenium family’s 4 cylinder engine boasts electrohydraulic valvetrain featuring patented control algorithms developed in-house (enables fully variable control of intake valve lift for optimum power, torque and efficiency), exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head casting and  twin-scroll turbocharger.

New F-Type 2.0’s engine gives 300 hp at 5,500 rpm and 400 NM (295 lb/ft) @ 1,500-4,500rpm. It’s paired with Quickshift 8-gear automatic gearbox and rear traction.

CHASSIS

Weighing 52kg less than the equivalent model powered by the 340PS V6, this is the lightest F-TYPE yet. The majority of this mass reduction is located over the front axle. So the front and rear spring rates have been reduced by four and three per cent

The entry-level four-cylinder models are equipped as standard with new, lightweight 18-inch wheels fitted with 245/45/R18 tyres at the front axle and 275/40/R18 tyres at the rear: these help to reduce unsprung mass, further improving responsiveness and control. The R-Dynamic models have 19-inch wheels as standard with 245/40/R19 and 275/35/R19 tyres front and rear respectively.

As standard, the braking system on all four-cylinder models has 355mm and 325mm discs at the front and rear. As an option, all four-cylinder models fitted with 19- and 20-inch wheels can be upgraded to the Jaguar Super Performance Braking System which features 380mm and 376mm discs.

PERFORMANCE

Weighing 1,525 kilos (F-Type Coupé) and 1,545 kilos (F-Type 2,0 Cabriolet) it goes from 0 to 100 in 5″7 e reaches 155 mph (249 km/h). According to Jaguar stated consuption is 7,2 l/100 kms (NEDC cycle).
