Il Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT2 RS, disponibile esclusivamente per i possessori della nuova 911 GT2 RS, nasce dalla collaborazione “Porsche Design per Porsche Projects”. Ciascun cronografo, che verrà consegnato insieme alla macchina, verrà collegato al numero di VIN individuale della vettura sportiva del cliente che verrà inciso a laser sul fondello avvitato in titanio e vetro zaffiro.
La cassa in titanio (42 mm x 15,33 mm) è, al pari della 911 GT2 RS, verniciata in argento metallizzato GT con particolari neri mentre lunetta e fondello sfoggiano un rivestimento in carburo di titanio nero a richiamare il bicolore della Porsche. Sul rehaut è collocata la scala tachimetrica, un must have per un cronografo, l’orologio sportivo per eccellenza. La corona al 3 è avvitata con lavorazione Clous-de-Paris.
Il quadrante, che vuole riprendere la strumentazione e il tachimetro del cruscotto, è in fibra di carbonio con colorazione originale Porsche GT Silver Metallic ed è protetto da vetro zaffiro rinforzato, antigraffio e antiriflesso ambo i lati. A ore 9 una finestrella a ore 9 riporta il logo 911 GT2 RS a sostituire i piccoli secondi e, con il proprio movimento, indica il funzionamento dell’orologio. Alle 6 è visibile il contatore delle 12 ore, a ore 12 quello dei 30 minuti mentre a ore 4 è presente la finestrella del datario con correzione rapida. Le lancette nere sono rivestite con superluminova mentre le lancette cronografiche sono gialle.
Questo cronografo flyback, impermeabile fino a 50 metri, è animato dal calibro Werk 01.200 certificato COSC, primo movimento di manifattura di Porsche Design. Questo calibro cronografico automatico nero opaco con ponti cromati, platina e viti lucidate, rotore scheletrato ispirato ai cerchi in magnesio della 911 GT2 RS Weissach, bilanciere Glucydur, spirale Nivaflex, sistema regolatore Etachron con correttore e sistema antiurto Incabloc, batte al ritmo di 28.800 alternanze l’ora e assicura un’autonomia di marcia di 48 ore. Proprio come nelle auto, un tipico sistema di bloccaggio centrale della Porsche con il logo RS collega il rotore al movimento dell’orologio.
Il Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT2 RS è proposto con due cinturini in pelle intercambiabili: uno in pelle/Alcantara nera, l’altro in pelle nera e Alcantara rossa. Entrambi i cinturini sono chiusi con una fibbia pieghevole in titanio.

The new Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT2 RS, exclusively available for owners of the new 911 GT2 RS, is a high-end chronograph driven by the brand’s first in-house movement. Each will be manufactured according to specifications of the client’s individual order (linked by the sports car’s individual VIN number) and delivered together. As a result of this program, Porsche Design extends the unique identity of the vehicle to its driver’s wrist.
The flyback chronograph features Porsche Design’s the in-house movement, calibre Werk 01.200 which is C.O.S.C. certified. The development of this self-winding chronograph calibre with energy-optimized Porsche Design rotor resembling the magnesium wheels of the 911 GT2 RS Weissach Package (28.800 vph, Incabloc shock protector, Glucydur balance, 48 hours power reserve) took three years.
As a result of the heat-treated coil spring, the movement delivers additional constant
force transmission, among other features, to optimize the rate accuracy during increased
load conditions over a longer period of time. Such increased load occurs, for
instance, when time is stopped on the race track.
Just like the wheel transfers force from the engine to the road, the movement’s rotor
is crucial for generating and transferring the mechanical energy in an automatic
movement. Consequently, and with love for detail, the skeletonized rotor is designed to resemble the wheel rim of the 911 GT2 RS.
Also, Porsche’s Development Center for Motorsport was the catalyst in the design of
the barrel bridge. In order to implement Porsche’s lightweight design, the bridges are
load/stress optimised.
Thanks to its sporty design, the 42 mm titanium case is an instant eye-catcher. Like the sports car, painted in GT Metallic Silver with black accents, the black titaniumcarbide-coating on the chronograph’s bezel and case back emulate the two-tone color scheme of the car. Like the stabilizers, the connecting rods, the shifter paddles, and the steering wheel cover, the dial is made of carbon fiber. It is reminiscent of the carbon fiber strips used in the 911 GT2 RS and refined with the original car lacquer.
The time display reflects the instrument cluster and speedometer in the cockpit. A mechanical function display with “911 GT2 RS” logo indicates the smooth running of the movement and replaces the small seconds at the 9 o’clock position. The tachymeter scale, sitting on top of the rehaut, allows the calculation of average speeds, a feature created for the race track.
The Porsche Design Chronograph 911 GT2 RS delivers with two leather straps both with titanium folding clasp: one black leather/Alcantara and one red leather/Alcantara. Thanks to the interchangeable wristband system, both can be easily exchanged.
The sports car and chronograph are inseparably linked to the unique VIN, which is laser engraved into the titanium case back of the timepiece water-resistant up to 5 bar.
